A school in Panipat, Haryana, is under scrutiny after a seven-year-old student was subjected to a harrowing punishment for not doing his homework. Two videos have surfaced online, revealing the principal and school staff’s brutal actions towards the young student. One video shows the school driver, Ajay, hanging the Class 2 student upside down and assaulting him. In the other video, Principal Reena is seen slapping the children. The mother of the seven-year-old stated that her son had recently joined the school, alleging that the principal directed the driver to punish the child. The principal claimed that she had notified the parents of the student’s misbehavior before administering the punishment. She admitted to summoning the driver to discipline the boy on August 13 and stated that the driver was subsequently fired. However, the family alleges that the driver sent individuals to their home to intimidate them after the videos emerged. The Model Town Police have initiated a case under the Juvenile Justice Act (2015), with an investigation underway, and the principal and driver are expected to be arrested soon.
