Gurdaspur, March 1: Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini issued a passionate rallying cry on Sunday, urging unity to restore Punjab to its vibrant ‘Rangla Punjab’ glory. Speaking at a Saini community event in Dinanagar, Gurdaspur district, Saini described Punjab as the sacred land of Gurus, sacrifices, and martyrdom.

Despite the scars of Partition, Punjabis never bowed to despair, transforming resilience into their greatest strength, he noted. The upcoming Punjab Assembly elections, Saini emphasized, are not merely about changing governments but redirecting the state’s political course and restoring societal honor.

‘It’s an honor to stand on this holy soil,’ Saini said, calling for collective efforts to propel Punjab back to the forefront of development. He praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for empowering the Saini community, elevating a grassroots worker like himself to the chief minister’s office.

Highlighting Haryana’s achievements, Saini announced he would present his second budget in the state assembly on Monday. Of 217 resolutions, 60 have been fulfilled, with rapid progress on 120 more. Key initiatives include free dialysis for kidney patients in all hospitals and medical colleges, monthly pensions delivered to seniors’ doorsteps on the 10th, and Rs 2,100 monthly aid to women under the Ladli Laxmi scheme.

Farmers benefit from MSP procurement with payments within 48 hours, alongside the Kisan Bhavanthar Bharpai Yojana. Housing for the poor, land allotments for landless families, and property rights for long-term occupants on panchayat land underscore the government’s welfare push.

Saini blamed Punjab’s stalled growth on power concentrated in few hands, declaring it time for a political shift. He expressed confidence that the OBC community, comprising 31% of Punjab’s population, would unite behind the BJP to form the next government, ushering in prosperity and vitality.
