Mumbai’s Lok Bhavan witnessed a significant literary event on Tuesday as Gujarat and Maharashtra Governor Acharya Devvrat unveiled the intriguing book ‘Ghosts, Horror and Hills’. Penned by veteran journalist, educator, and author of ‘High on Kasol’, Aditya Kant, the book promises a unique blend of mystery and meaningful narratives.

Governor Devvrat commended the author for masterfully weaving 18 stories that transcend the book’s eerie title. Despite the ghostly theme, the tales emphasize societal service, positivity, and human empathy. He described ghosts as mere figments of the human mind, praising Kant for crafting uplifting stories across diverse themes.

Highlighting sensitivity as humanity’s greatest virtue, the Governor noted its role in nurturing empathy among the youth, fostering positive social change. He portrayed books as true companions that offer solace and inner strength to readers.

Aditya Kant shared a poignant personal anecdote from his COVID-19 hospitalization. Battling between life and death in the ICU, witnessing mortality up close ignited in him a profound desire to aid fellow patients. This experience profoundly influenced the book’s narratives, which promote collaboration and environmental awareness in compelling ways.

The launch event drew notable figures from entertainment and media, including Karuna Badwal, Business Manager at Red Chillies Entertainment (SRK’s production house), musician Sanjeev Vadhwani, film director Rajan Khosa, and other distinguished guests. The gathering celebrated not just a book release but a message of hope amid supernatural intrigue.
