Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to visit Gujarat on August 25 and 26, during which he will inaugurate and lay the foundation for numerous projects in Ahmedabad and Hansalpur. The combined value of these projects exceeds ₹5400 crore, representing a significant investment in the state’s infrastructure.

Railway projects will receive over ₹1400 crore. Key initiatives include doubling the Mahesana-Palanpur railway line, converting the gauge of the Kalol-Kadi-Katosan and Becharaji-Ranuja railway lines, and launching a new passenger train service between Katosan Road and Sabarmati. A car-loaded freight train service will also be introduced from Becharaji.

Road and bridge projects are also a key focus, with the construction of new underpasses and overbridges on the Ahmedabad-Mahesana-Palanpur and Ahmedabad-Viramgam roads. These improvements aim to enhance transportation efficiency and ease the movement of goods.

Significant investments are planned in the power sector, with over ₹1000 crore allocated for the inauguration of power distribution projects in Ahmedabad, Mahesana, and Gandhinagar. These projects will help to reduce power outages and minimize disruptions caused by adverse weather.

Urban development will encompass initiatives like slum redevelopment in Ahmedabad’s Ramapir No Tekro area, expansion of the Sardar Patel Ring Road, and new water and sewerage projects.

Administrative and digital infrastructure will also see significant upgrades, with a new Stamps and Registration building in Ahmedabad and a State-Level Data Storage Center in Gandhinagar. These developments aim to enhance government services and facilitate digital transformation.

On August 26, Hansalpur will witness the launch of two major achievements in the green energy and automobile sectors. The Prime Minister will flag off Suzuki’s first global electric car, the e-VITARA, for export to 100 countries. Additionally, local production of hybrid battery electrodes will commence at the TDS Lithium-Ion Battery Plant, with the aim of manufacturing over 80% of the batteries within India.
