In a shocking incident in Greater Noia’s Jahangirpur area under Jewar police station, a local trader and his family were brutally assaulted by neighbors after objecting to stones being thrown on their rooftop. The altercation, which unfolded on Wednesday, quickly escalated from a verbal spat into a violent clash, leaving several family members injured.
Puneet Agarwal, a resident trader, reported that his neighbors were hurling stones onto his house roof. When he confronted them, the situation turned ugly. Accused individuals identified as Puneet alias Gutki, Chetan, and Kalicharan allegedly abused him and attacked with sticks, causing injuries to Puneet and other family members. Chaos ensued in the neighborhood as screams echoed, prompting locals to intervene and separate the warring parties.
Eyewitnesses described a scene of panic, with residents rushing to the spot upon hearing the commotion. The timely intervention prevented further escalation, but not before the damage was done. Crucially, the entire episode was captured on CCTV cameras installed in the vicinity, providing police with vital evidence.
Following the attack, the aggrieved family lodged a formal complaint at Jewar police station. Station House Officer Sanjay Singh confirmed that a case has been registered against the three accused under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code. ‘We are conducting a thorough investigation and will arrest the perpetrators soon,’ Singh assured.
This neighborhood brawl underscores rising tensions in closely knit communities, where minor disputes can spiral into violence. Authorities urge residents to resolve conflicts amicably and seek police mediation before matters worsen. As the probe continues, the community awaits justice for the victims.
