In a dramatic late-night encounter in Greater Noida’s Rabupura police station area, police engaged in a fierce gunfight with two criminals on Sunday evening. One suspect sustained bullet injuries, while his accomplice was nabbed during an intense combing operation.

Acting on a tip-off about suspicious activities near Karouli underpass on February 22, 2026, local police launched a thorough checking drive. Spotting two men on a motorcycle, officers signaled them to stop. Instead, the duo accelerated away and opened fire on the pursuing team.

Police retaliated promptly, wounding one assailant identified as Salman, son of Bukhari from Mohalla Arapuri, Kareena police station, Shamli district. His partner, Aslam, son of Akbar from Rohinda village, Arnia police station, Bulandshahr district, was captured after a tense chase and encirclement.

The injured suspect was rushed to a hospital for treatment. From their possession, authorities recovered two illegal .315 bore pistols, two live cartridges, two spent shells, a stolen motorcycle without a number plate, and cow slaughter equipment including two ropes, two knives, one syringe, one injection vial, and two empty plastic bags.

Senior officers revealed that both men are hardened criminals wanted in cases at Rabupura station and under the Cow Slaughter Prevention Act. Further probes into their criminal backgrounds are underway. Post-incident, police have heightened vigilance in the area, vowing to continue cracking down on crime and illegal activities relentlessly.
