Progress on the Ganga Expressway, a vital infrastructure project connecting Meerut and Prayagraj, is advancing towards its conclusion. The expressway’s development in the Hasanpur tehsil of the Amroha district is largely finished, with only final touches remaining. The expectation is that the route will be open to traffic within a month. The Hasanpur area’s 23.60 km segment was initially targeted for completion by October 12, 2025. However, road construction and lighting are in place, along with a completed drainage pipeline. Infrastructure enhancements include an overbridge and T-point on the Hasanpur-Rahra road in Mangrola, with four toll plazas, in addition to the completed bridge over the Ganga River in Pandapur. Finishing work has been temporarily halted due to weather conditions, with completion anticipated within the next month. The entire 594 km-long Ganga Expressway, stretching from Meerut to Prayagraj, is slated to launch in November. Once operational, this expressway will significantly reduce travel time between Meerut and Prayagraj, providing a convenient travel option for residents of Amroha. It will also benefit devotees attending the Tigri fair from Prayagraj and surrounding areas, and facilitate access to the Sangam bath for those from Meerut, Hapur, and Amroha. The expressway will also provide convenience to lawyers and litigants from western Uttar Pradesh, allowing them to commute to the Prayagraj High Court and return on the same day.
