Failed robbery bid results in leakage of BPCL’s diesel pipeline in Thane

THANE: Nationwide refiner Bharat Petroleum Company (BPCL) on Thursday stated there was once a leakage in its diesel pipeline connecting Mumbai and Manmad in Maharashtra’s district following a failed try to thieve the gas.

A gang of miscreants made the unsuccessful bid to faucet the gas in Shil Phata space close to Thane town early Thursday morning, which resulted in a minor leakage of the pipeline and a brief shutdown of the power.

The pipeline is up and completely purposeful now, a   spokesman stated.

Thane Municipal Company’s regional crisis control mobile leader Avinash Sawant stated the leakage within the 18-inches prime force diesel pipeline began at 5.21 am close to a gasoline godown at Shil Phata close to Thane and the gas spilled into the world.

The world was once then cordoned off for the restore paintings, he stated, including that Turbhe police officers from Navi Mumbai, native firemen and a BPCL workforce rushed to the spot and began the paintings to plug the leakage.

The 252-km diesel pipeline connects Mumbai and Manmad.
