Nuh district in Haryana is witnessing a lockdown-like scenario today, with strict security protocols implemented for the Brij Mandal Jalabhishek Yatra. Schools will remain closed. Authorities have banned the carrying of weapons, excluding the Sikh kirpan. Furthermore, the use of DJs and loudspeakers broadcasting potentially inflammatory content is prohibited. This is due to concerns of maintaining peace during the procession. The Haryana government has increased the police presence, and a holiday has been announced for all schools. The stringent measures are a response to the violence that occurred in Nuh during the Brij Mandal Yatra in July 2023.
