Noida is gearing up to introduce 500 electric buses, aiming to transform public transport in the region. The project, with an estimated budget of Rs 675 crore, is scheduled to be completed within 250 days and will be rolled out in stages. After a competitive tender process, two private companies have been selected to operate the electric bus services across 25 routes. The routes will span crucial city areas and provide connectivity to Noida International Airport (Jewar). Specific routes planned include Shashi Chowk to Ace City, Kasna Village to Sharda University, Tigri Gol Chakkar to Rajnigandha Chowk, Ek Murti Chowk to Gautam Buddha University, Botanical Garden to Sampurnam, and Dadri to Gautam Buddha University via Kasna. The annual operational expenses are estimated at Rs 370 crore, while the anticipated revenue from rent and advertising is Rs 145 crore annually. Alongside this, a 30 km expressway has been greenlit by the Central Government to link Delhi, Noida, Greater Noida, and the upcoming Jewar International Airport, facilitating reduced travel times and improved traffic management. This new expressway will be constructed parallel to the existing Noida-Greater Noida Expressway along the Yamuna River.
