A significant meeting has been scheduled by the Election Commission for September 10th to address the nationwide Systematic Electoral Roll Revision (SIR). The meeting will bring together Chief Electoral Officers (CEOs) from all states and union territories to discuss and finalize the framework. Key topics will include upcoming assembly elections and ensuring their smooth conduct. The meeting’s goals encompass voter list revision, enforcement of the model code of conduct, technical improvements, and increased transparency. The Election Commission had instructed all CEOs in June to prepare for the SIR, following the Bihar model. The meeting will be led by Chief Election Commissioner, Gyanesh Kumar.
