New Delhi: The Election Commission of India (ECI) has officially announced the schedule for Rajya Sabha elections to fill 37 seats across 10 states. The polling is set to take place on March 16, as the terms of several members are slated to expire in April 2026. According to the commission, the formal notification will be issued on February 26. Candidates must file their nominations by March 5, with scrutiny taking place on March 6. The deadline for withdrawal of candidatures is March 9. Voting will occur between 9 AM and 4 PM on the election day, followed by the commencement of counting at 5 PM. The states involved include Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, Bihar, Odisha, Assam, Chhattisgarh, Haryana, Telangana, and Himachal Pradesh.
