An investigation into the death of Nikki Bhati has raised doubts about the narrative presented by her family. Nikki, who reportedly died in a dowry-related incident in Greater Noida, was cremated by her in-laws, with her father-in-law actively involved. Nikki’s death occurred on August 21st. Her sister Kanchan, also married into the same family residing in Sirsa village, claimed that Nikki was set on fire and killed by her husband Vipin and other family members. Kanchan reported fainting after seeing her sister burning, with the in-laws fleeing the scene. However, a video presents a different perspective, revealing Nikki’s father-in-law, along with other relatives, at the cremation. The father-in-law is seen lighting the pyre. Following the funeral, Nikki’s family filed a complaint against Vipin, Kanchan’s husband Rohit, and other in-laws, leading to their arrest. During the arrest, Vipin attempted to take an officer’s firearm, resulting in him being shot. A previous video showed Vipin and a woman dragging Nikki, with Vipin appearing shirtless and covered in blood. Kanchan stated that she and her sister were subjected to constant mental and physical abuse, with the demand for additional dowry mentioned as a key factor in their suffering. She also spoke of being brutally assaulted on the morning of Nikki’s death.
