Bengaluru is buzzing with political tension as Karnataka’s Congress faces mounting pressure over leadership transitions. DK Suresh, former MP and brother of Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar, expressed strong faith in Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s commitment to their agreement. Speaking to reporters, Suresh hinted at a power-sharing formula, assuring that Siddaramaiah would fulfill his promise, even if it takes time.

The drama escalated when Shivakumar, during a Delhi visit, revealed discussions with Siddaramaiah in the presence of national leaders. He promised more details when the time is right, fueling speculation about a potential CM rotation. Back in Bengaluru, Suresh reiterated his optimism, dismissing immediate concerns but acknowledging possible delays.

Siddaramaiah, visibly irritated by persistent media queries on leadership changes, urged reporters to focus elsewhere. ‘Whatever the high command decides, Shivakumar and I will abide by it,’ he stated firmly. He emphasized leaving the matter to party leadership and criticized the media’s fixation on the issue.

Meanwhile, questions about MLAs’ foreign trips to New Zealand and Australia drew a clarification from the CM. He noted these are self-funded vacations amid ongoing departmental meetings, with the budget session announcement imminent. In Delhi, Shivakumar stuck to his cryptic line: ‘Time will answer all questions,’ responding to queries on his repeated statements and Suresh’s comments.

Shivakumar’s supporters are growing vocal, demanding high command intervention to end the leadership confusion. His public mention of a private pact with Siddaramaiah has intensified the spotlight on Karnataka’s power dynamics. As the Congress high command watches closely, the coming days could reshape the state’s political landscape, testing loyalties and promises made behind closed doors.
