Onboard the Indian Navy’s flagship, INS Vikrant, Prime Minister Narendra Modi celebrated Diwali with the nation’s defenders, calling the experience ‘memorable.’ His visit to the Goa and Karwar naval bases provided an opportunity to connect with the armed forces during the festival of lights. During his address to the naval personnel, PM Modi showcased INS Vikrant as a prime example of India’s burgeoning defense prowess. He evoked memories of ‘Operation Sindoor,’ recounting how swift military action and exceptional coordination between the Army, Navy, and Air Force led to Pakistan’s decisive defeat. The Prime Minister articulated that INS Vikrant is not merely a vessel but a concrete manifestation of India’s dedication to self-sufficiency and technological advancement. He shared his profound impression of the soldiers’ enthusiasm and patriotism, particularly their powerful renditions of Operation Sindoor’s narrative. PM Modi underscored the psychological warfare component, noting how the mere mention of INS Vikrant instills apprehension in adversaries. He also drew attention to the formidable BrahMos cruise missile, instrumental in Operation Sindoor, and mentioned its potential as an export product, supporting India’s defense export ambitions. In addition, the Prime Minister celebrated the significant reduction in Maoist activity, attributing it to the valor of security forces and expressing optimism for its ultimate extinction.
