Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended warm Deepavali greetings to the nation, framing the festival as a celebration of righteousness and a symbol of India’s progress. In a letter addressed to all citizens, he highlighted the profound significance of this year’s Diwali, occurring for the second time since the consecration of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya. The Prime Minister drew a powerful connection between the ideals of Lord Ram and recent national actions, specifically referencing ‘Operation Sindoor.’ He commended the operation for embodying righteous conduct and seeking retribution for injustice, stating, ‘During Operation Sindoor, Bharat not only upheld righteousness but also avenged injustice.’

Modi illuminated the success in combating Naxalism and Maoist terrorism, noting that many districts, once plagued by these issues, are now celebrating Diwali with newfound peace. He applauded the individuals who have chosen to abandon violence and integrate into the nation’s development journey, a move he described as a ‘major achievement.’ The Prime Minister also drew attention to the ‘GST Bachat Utsav,’ initiated with lower GST rates, which is enabling citizens to save significant amounts. He projected a strong economic future for India, anticipating its rise to the third-largest global economy. The letter concluded with a strong call to action, urging citizens to champion ‘Swadeshi’ goods and contribute to building a developed and self-reliant India through collective duty and national spirit.
