Uttarakhand’s Chief Minister, Pushkar Singh Dhami, conducted a review of the Kanwar Yatra preparations in Haridwar, commending the arrangements and the enthusiasm displayed by the devotees. Dhami, while speaking to the press, noted the satisfaction expressed by the pilgrims with the current setup. He also offered his best wishes for a safe yatra for everyone involved. Earlier in the day, CM Dhami inaugurated the foundation stone for a colossal 251-foot-tall saffron flag near the Ganga. Currently, thousands of Kanwariyas are collecting holy water from the Ganga at Har Ki Pauri as part of the annual pilgrimage. Dhami characterized the Kanwar Mela as a ‘festival of celebration,’ extending a welcoming hand to all Shiva devotees visiting the state. He also mentioned that over a crore devotees have already collected Ganga water during this year’s yatra. The Kanwar Yatra, which began on July 10, is marked by pilgrims collecting holy water and offering it at Lord Shiva temples, demonstrating their faith through fasts and rituals.
