New Delhi, March 1 – Delhi Assembly Speaker Vijender Gupta took a significant step towards ‘Viksit Bharat’ by inaugurating a computer education center and reading room in Nangloi on Sunday. The Savitri Devi Goyal Institute of Computer Education and Reading Room marks a vital initiative in bridging the digital divide for underprivileged youth.
Gupta emphasized that in today’s digital age, computer education is no longer a luxury but an essential necessity. ‘Every reading room and computer center is a step towards a developed India,’ he declared during the event organized by Seva Bharati at Raghunath Dharmshala. He highlighted how true literacy now encompasses digital proficiency, crucial for the younger generation.
Recalling his student days at Delhi School of Economics, Gupta shared nostalgic memories of seeking quiet study spaces like the Ratan Tata Library in Timarpur. These havens allowed deep focus, which he believes is indispensable for students preparing for competitive exams such as IAS, IPS, and other civil services.
The Speaker expressed confidence that this new facility would empower numerous young aspirants in their academic and professional journeys. He urged the community to treat the center as a collective endeavor, encouraging book donations, volunteering hours, and financial contributions to sustain its growth.
Gupta praised Seva Bharati and the Goyal family for installing 15 computers and creating a dedicated reading space, fulfilling the study aspirations of local students, especially those from economically weaker sections. He viewed the center not merely as a building inauguration but as opening new opportunities for talented youth often held back by resource shortages.
RSS Prant Pracharak Vishal also addressed the gathering, stressing the commitment to education, social upliftment, and inclusive digital empowerment. He assured that the institute would play a pivotal role in strengthening underprivileged students who cannot afford expensive coaching facilities.
By providing affordable computer education and study spaces, the center will unlock new pathways for capable students to acquire essential digital skills, boosting their confidence to pursue educational and career goals effectively. This initiative is poised to inspire similar efforts, fostering a culture of service, discipline, and lifelong learning across society.
