In a swift operation that has brought relief to anxious families, Delhi Police’s Crime Branch Anti-Human Trafficking Unit (AHTU) successfully rescued two abducted minors and reunited them with their parents. The boys, aged 12 and 15, had gone missing from Mukherjee Nagar and Wazirabad police station areas respectively.

The first case emerged from Mukherjee Nagar, where a 12-year-old mentally challenged boy vanished on September 6, 2025. An FIR was promptly filed under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. Recognizing the urgency, the investigation was handed over to the AHTU. A dedicated team led by Inspector Mukesh Kumar and ASI Ajay Kumar Jha, under ACP Suresh Kumar, left no stone unturned. They scoured CCTV footage across the neighborhood, conducted exhaustive local inquiries, leveraged technical surveillance, disseminated the boy’s details on social media, and grilled family members and relatives.

Their efforts revealed the boy had been living in a rented accommodation in Nirankari Colony, working as a vehicle cleaner by day and night security guard. Due to his mental condition, he wandered off while playing, lost his way, and ended up at Anand Vihar Bus Terminal. The police team located and safely retrieved him from there.

In the parallel Wazirabad case, a 15-year-old boy was reported missing on January 22, 2026, with an FIR registered two days later. The AHTU team, comprising Inspector Mukesh Kumar, ASI Mahesh, and Head Constable Naresh Kumar, again under ACP Suresh Kumar’s supervision, mounted a thorough probe. Through persistent local questioning, tech-driven surveillance, and family interviews, they zeroed in on a crucial tip from ASI Mahesh. On February 4, they rescued the boy unharmed from Azadpur Sabzi Mandi.

Investigations showed the teenager had a domestic spat with his family and fled to his aunt’s place. Both minors, now safe, were handed over to their respective local police stations. This timely intervention not only restored two young lives to their homes but also eased pressures on local law enforcement. Grateful families showered praise on the Delhi Police for their sensitive and rapid response, underscoring the force’s commitment to child safety in the national capital.
