New Delhi buzzed with the vibrant energy of Holi on Wednesday, but beneath the colors and cheers, Delhi Police maintained ironclad security measures to ensure public safety. Prioritizing law and order during the festival of colors, officers launched intensive checking campaigns across the city.

In key areas, teams stopped vehicles with blacked-out windows for thorough inspections. Drunk driving checks using breath analyzers were rampant, and traffic violators faced immediate challans. West Vihar saw heightened deployments to keep festivities peaceful, with Police Commissioner Satish Golcha personally inspecting arrangements and motivating personnel with sweets and praise.

‘Sensitive zones have extra forces, and patrolling is non-stop,’ officials confirmed. In South Delhi’s Govindpuri, focus sharpened on DUI offenders, with dark-tinted cars scrutinized and fines slapped on rule-breakers. The drive aimed to curb festival-related accidents.

East Delhi’s Laxmi Nagar cracked down on helmetless riders, overloaded bikes, and undocumented vehicles, impounding several on the spot. Near Laxmi Nagar Metro, Shakarpur police issued numerous challans. These efforts, started a day prior, included border checks, liquor smuggler surveillance, and community strategy sessions based on past incidents.

As revelers smeared colors symbolizing good over evil and spring’s arrival, police vigilance guaranteed a mishap-free Holi, blending joy with security in the capital.
