In a swift operation late Saturday night, the patrolling team from Prasad Nagar police station in New Delhi apprehended two notorious criminals who were plotting a major crime in the area. Acting on a tip-off from an informant, the alert officers spotted the suspects near Shiv Mandir in Bapa Nagar and gave chase when they attempted to flee.
The duo, identified as Karan Ranchoiya (25) from Karol Bagh and Jatin (25), also from Karol Bagh, was quickly overpowered. A search revealed a stolen iPhone snatched earlier from Patel Nagar area and a white Activa scooter used in the crime. Both men have extensive criminal histories, with Karan facing multiple cases of theft and snatching at Rajendra Nagar, Daryaganj, and Sarai Rohilla stations.
The patrolling team, comprising ASI Johrilal, Constable Sandeep Bhati, Constable Shubham, and Constable Amit Nagar, demonstrated exemplary vigilance. This arrest not only foils a potential heist but reinforces Delhi Police’s commitment to maintaining law and order in high-risk zones.
Authorities have registered cases under relevant sections, and investigations continue. A special team is now hunting for their accomplices based on leads from the arrested pair. Residents of Prasad Nagar can breathe easier knowing their streets are safer tonight.
