The central government has approved a new 30-kilometer expressway project, aimed at bolstering road connectivity within the Delhi-NCR area. This expressway will connect Delhi, Noida, and Greater Noida to the new Jewar International Airport. The planned route will run parallel to the Noida-Greater Noida Expressway, linking Pashta Road to both the Noida-Greater Noida Expressway and the Yamuna Expressway. The proposal was initially put forward by Gautam Buddha Nagar MP Dr. Mahesh Sharma, and has garnered support from Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari. Gadkari has emphasized the critical role of this road in maximizing the potential of Jewar Airport. The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) will manage the project, and funding is not anticipated to be an issue. This project is a piece of a larger investment in infrastructure improvements throughout the Delhi-NCR region. Gadkari announced that projects worth ₹1.2 lakh crore are in progress, with a substantial percentage already finished. Additional investment of ₹40,000-50,000 crore is planned for further infrastructure development.
