The Yamuna River has breached the 207-meter mark, prompting a flood alert across Delhi NCR. As of September 4, 2025, the water level at the Old Railway Bridge was recorded at 207.48 meters. Massive water discharge from various barrages has significantly increased the river’s flow. The overflowing Yamuna has reached the main gate of Monastery Market. Rescue operations are underway by the NDRF in various locations. The Nigambodh Ghat is now submerged in the rising water, impacting cremation activities. Authorities have evacuated more than 700 people from vulnerable areas in Noida and Ghaziabad. Road closures, including the ISBT to Tis Hazari route, are in effect due to the flooding.
