A significant deterioration in air quality has been observed across Delhi and the National Capital Region (NCR), with pollution levels nearing the ‘Severe’ category on Monday. The overall AQI stood at 397, indicating a pressing environmental concern. According to monitoring data, a substantial number of air quality stations, 20 out of 39, recorded AQI within the Severe bracket, underscoring the widespread nature of the pollution.
Noida recorded an alarming AQI of 413, placing it firmly in the Severe pollution zone. Several other areas within the region are also grappling with extremely poor air quality. Jahangirpuri reported an AQI of 455, marking it as a critical pollution hotspot. Other areas experiencing hazardous air included Rohini (458), Delhi Technological University (444), Anand Vihar (442), Bawana (439), Ashok Vihar (436), Burari (433), Alipur (412), ITO (409), and Dwarka (401). These figures highlight the urgent need for robust pollution control measures across the NCR.
