New Delhi is gearing up for a vibrant celebration of nature as Lieutenant Governor V.K. Saxena, also the Chairman of the Delhi Development Authority (DDA), prepares to inaugurate the two-day Palash Mahotsav 2026 on Saturday at Asita Floodplain near ITO. This event promises a feast for the senses with stunning floral decorations, seasonal plant exhibitions, and interactive green installations that highlight the beauty of spring’s arrival.

Joining the LG will be Minister of State for Corporate Affairs Harsh Malhotra and DDA Vice Chairman N. Saravanan Kumar, underscoring the government’s commitment to environmental initiatives. Organized by the DDA, the festival will feature a diverse array of attractions including horticulture displays, artisan stalls, a food court, cultural performances, workshops, and community engagement activities.

Palash Mahotsav symbolizes the joyful transition from winter to spring, embodying renewal, vibrant colors, and communal harmony. Visitors can immerse themselves in the lush surroundings, learning about sustainable practices while enjoying live entertainment and hands-on sessions.

Just a week earlier, on February 14, the LG had launched the DDA Green Expo 2026 and Palash Mahotsav at Bansera along the Yamuna riverbank. There, he urged every citizen to embrace responsibility towards the environment. Reflecting on the transformation, he remarked how a once-polluted wasteland has become a platform for sustainable urban planning.

In a social media post, Saxena hailed Bansera as a testament to resilience and effort in reclaiming degraded land. He envisioned a Delhi where clean air is a right, every neighborhood is shaded by trees, riverbanks are nurtured, and citizens actively protect their ecology.

The DDA shared on social media that the Green Expo’s opening day set the tone for a climate-resilient future, featuring MoU signings, logo reveals, keynote addresses, and exhibition walkthroughs. The Palash Festival is being celebrated simultaneously at multiple venues like Ashoka Garden in Ashok Vihar, Lala Hardayal Park in Jasola, and Smriti Van in Narela, each curated around unique themes celebrating nature, sustainability, and community life.

This multi-location event not only beautifies Delhi but also fosters awareness about green living, making it a must-visit for families and nature enthusiasts alike.
