New Delhi witnessed a significant boost to its development agenda on Saturday as Chief Minister Rekha Gupta inaugurated projects worth over Rs 135 crore in the Mehrauli assembly constituency. The event marked a blend of spirituality and progress, beginning with her prayers at the revered Yogmaya Temple and a visit to Gurudwara Baba Banda Singh Bahadur.

Gupta shared her vision on social media platform X, emphasizing that a developed Delhi starts from strengthened homes, colonies, and assemblies. ‘Mehrauli is advancing firmly in this direction,’ she posted. ‘We are preserving its historical grandeur while integrating 21st-century modern facilities. Heritage will be safeguarded, and the future empowered.’

Taking a sharp dig at the Aam Aadmi Party, the CM accused them of merely polishing Delhi’s image through advertisements. ‘Mehrauli’s heritage, needs, and citizens’ expectations were neglected for years. Their politics was power-centric; ours is rooted in service, good governance, and development,’ she asserted. These initiatives focus on ensuring cleanliness, bolstering infrastructure, and making lives more organized, secure, and dignified.

Prior to the launch, Gupta offered prayers at the ancient Siddhpeeth Mata Yogmaya Temple. ‘Mata Yogmaya embodies divine power, protection, and righteousness, blessing this city with faith and spiritual energy for centuries,’ she wrote on X. ‘I pray for happiness, health, and prosperity in every family.’

She also paid obeisance at Gurudwara Baba Banda Singh Bahadur, seeking blessings for service, dedication, and equality in society. Coinciding with the Prakash Purb of Guru Har Rai Sahib, the Seventh Guru, Gupta extended heartfelt congratulations to all.

The projects underscore the government’s commitment to holistic development, balancing cultural preservation with modern amenities. Residents of Mehrauli can look forward to improved sanitation, robust infrastructure, and enhanced quality of life, signaling a new chapter in the constituency’s growth story.
