In a bold move to eradicate hunger from the national capital, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta announced the implementation of comprehensive new food security regulations. The initiative, encapsulated under the powerful slogan ‘Koi Bhookha Na Rahe’ (No One Should Go Hungry), promises to transform the city’s welfare landscape.

Speaking at a high-profile launch event, CM Gupta emphasized the government’s unwavering commitment to ensuring every resident has access to nutritious meals. ‘Hunger has no place in a progressive Delhi,’ she declared, outlining the key features of the revamped policy.

The new rules expand eligibility for subsidized food grains, introduce doorstep delivery for vulnerable groups, and integrate advanced digital tracking to prevent leakages. Over 50 lakh beneficiaries will now receive enhanced rations including millets, pulses, and fortified cereals, marking a significant upgrade from existing provisions.

This comes at a time when Delhi faces mounting pressure from rapid urbanization and economic disparities. The policy addresses these challenges head-on by partnering with local NGOs, self-help groups, and private sector players to streamline distribution networks across all 272 wards.

Experts hail the move as a game-changer. ‘By combining technology with grassroots outreach, Delhi is setting a national benchmark for food security,’ said nutritionist Dr. Priya Sharma.

Implementation begins immediately with pilot projects in outer Delhi districts, where malnutrition rates are highest. The CM assured strict monitoring through a dedicated task force, promising zero tolerance for corruption.

As winter approaches, these measures couldn’t be more timely, offering hope to millions. Delhi’s journey towards a hunger-free future has truly begun, with CM Gupta leading the charge.
