New Delhi witnessed a major push towards urban renewal on Sunday as Chief Minister Rekha Gupta inaugurated development projects worth over ₹300 crore across three South Delhi assembly constituencies: Badarpur, Sangam Vihar, and Deoli. This ambitious initiative isn’t just about numbers; it’s a firm commitment to transforming the lives of residents in these long-neglected areas.

The projects encompass a wide array of infrastructure upgrades, including new roads, improved drainage systems, reliable drinking water supply, street lighting, parks, dispensaries, and community halls. Speaking at the events, CM Gupta emphasized that these efforts mark the beginning of long-awaited changes, particularly with the government’s mission-mode approach to eliminating the Okhla landfill, which has plagued the region for years.

In Badarpur, projects valued at ₹85 crore were flagged off. The CM assured full transparency, timely completion, and uncompromising quality. ‘We are dedicated to making Badarpur clean, safe, modern, and a model constituency for Delhi,’ she declared.

Moving to Sangam Vihar, where ₹115 crore worth of works were launched, Gupta addressed the residents’ longstanding frustrations. ‘Previous governments left you with broken roads, overflowing sewers, and unfulfilled promises. Now, we’re turning commitments into reality,’ she said. The initiatives include comprehensive road reconstruction, robust sewer and drainage networks, enhanced water supply, and upgrades to lanes, drains, and lighting, promising safer and more dignified lives for lakhs of people.

At Deoli, ₹104 crore projects kicked off with a focus on building a developed Delhi. New roads, expanded sewer networks, strengthened water pipelines, beautified parks, and new health and community centers are on the anvil. ‘The basic amenities you’ve waited years for are now moving from resolve to achievement,’ Gupta noted.

The CM reiterated that the government’s goal transcends mere construction—it’s about real change in citizens’ lives. South Delhi, once sidelined, will emerge as a beacon of development, cleanliness, security, and modernity. Attendees, including MP Ramvir Singh Bidhuri, praised the efforts as fulfilling PM Modi’s vision for a world-class capital, thanking Gupta for the substantial funding.
