Delhi CM Orders ACB Probe into Barapullah Delay Scandal

by World Opinion

New Delhi’s Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has launched a scathing attack on the previous Aam Aadmi Party government, accusing it of stalling key infrastructure projects. In a bold move on Monday, she directed the Anti-Corruption Branch (ACB) to investigate the mysterious delays plaguing the Barapullah Elevated Corridor expansion.

The project, critical for easing traffic woes in the capital, has seen unexplained hold-ups that the new administration is determined to uncover. ‘We have taken serious note of the unnecessary delays during the previous regime,’ Gupta stated firmly, underscoring her government’s commitment to transparency.

Once completed, the Barapullah Phase-III elevated road will stretch from Mayur Vihar in East Delhi to AIIMS in South Delhi, offering signal-free connectivity. The government has approved a revised cost of Rs 1,635.03 crore for this vital extension of the existing corridor.

This ambitious initiative promises to slash travel times for millions commuting daily between East and South Delhi. Expect reduced congestion around Sarai Kale Khan, Ring Road, DND Flyover, and NH-24. With a completion target of June 30, 2026, the project aligns with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision for a developed India.

Gupta emphasized that her administration is steadfast in building modern, world-class infrastructure. ‘These projects are concrete steps towards a Viksit Delhi, making transport more efficient and commuter-friendly,’ she added. The probe into past mismanagement signals a new era of accountable development in the national capital.
