In a shocking incident that has gripped northeast Delhi, a 24-year-old man named Fayyaz, also known as Faji, was fatally shot outside the Mr. King Lounge and Cafe in Maujpur on Friday evening. The altercation, reportedly stemming from a personal loan gone sour, escalated into violence, leaving the young man dead at GTB Hospital.
Eyewitnesses described a chaotic scene as shots rang out near the bustling cafe. Fayyaz was rushed to the hospital but succumbed to gunshot wounds to his chest and head injuries. Police have swiftly registered a murder case and are combing the area for forensic evidence, including bullet casings and blood samples.
CCTV footage from the vicinity is under intense scrutiny, with investigators optimistic about identifying the perpetrators soon. Security has been beefed up in Maujpur, a densely populated area prone to such flare-ups.
Fayyaz’s grieving mother recounted to reporters how her son had lent money to the accused about five to six months ago. ‘When he asked for it back, the man started abusing him and turned aggressive on multiple occasions,’ she said, her voice trembling. The family had previously faced threats, including warnings of violence at their doorstep, but never imagined it would end in tragedy.
Salman, the victim’s brother, painted a harrowing picture: ‘First, they hit him on the head, then fired two bullets into his chest.’ He alleged the accused had been harassing them relentlessly over the debt.
As the family demands swift justice, Delhi Police assure the public of a thorough probe. This incident underscores the rising tensions over petty financial disputes in urban neighborhoods, prompting calls for better conflict resolution mechanisms. Residents are urged to maintain calm while authorities hunt for the killers.
