The investigation into the deadly blast near Delhi’s Red Fort Metro Station has taken a significant turn with sources identifying the driver of the car as Dr. Umar Mohammad. Dr. Mohammad, a doctor hailing from Pulwama, is believed to have connections to a terror module operating out of Faridabad. This Faridabad connection is particularly noteworthy as a massive quantity of explosives, including ammonium nitrate, was recently unearthed in the area. CCTV footage has provided the first glimpse of the alleged driver, depicted as a masked figure operating the Hyundai i20. Police are examining the possibility that ammonium nitrate, fuel oil, and detonators were employed in the bombing, which tragically killed nine individuals and injured twenty. The blast’s suspected ties to the Faridabad terror network, where a substantial amount of explosive material was seized, are under intense scrutiny. Delhi Police have filed an FIR under the stringent UAPA and Explosives Act. A high-stakes security review is being conducted by Union Home Minister Amit Shah, bringing together key intelligence and law enforcement chiefs to address the evolving security landscape.
