‘Deeply regrettable’: India says technical malfunction resulted in missile touchdown in Pakistan

The Defence Ministry on Friday mentioned a technical malfunction at some stage in regimen upkeep resulted in the unintentional firing of a missile on March 9.

The ministry mentioned the missile landed in a space of Pakistan and famous that the “incident is deeply regrettable”.

The Pakistan army on Thursday mentioned {that a} high-speed projectile introduced from India entered the Pakistani airspace and fell close to Mian Channu in Khanewal district.

The Defence Ministry mentioned the Govt of India has taken a significant view of the incident and ordered a high-level Courtroom of Enquiry into it.

“On March 9, at some stage in a regimen upkeep, a technical malfunction resulted in the unintentional firing of a missile,” it mentioned in a commentary.

“It’s learnt that the missile landed in a space of Pakistan. Whilst the incident is deeply regrettable, it is usually an issue of reduction that there was no lack of lifestyles because of the coincidence,” it added.
