Patna, February 13: In a fiery statement, CPI(ML) Member of Parliament Rajaram Singh has accused the ruling establishment of orchestrating a conspiracy to strip Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi of his Lok Sabha membership. Speaking exclusively to reporters here, Singh asserted that the public would mount fierce resistance against any such move.
Singh praised Gandhi’s recent powerful address in Parliament as ‘outstanding,’ noting that it left the Central government cornered with irrefutable facts. ‘The ruling party is uncomfortable facing the truth and seeks to undermine democracy itself,’ he charged. ‘Rahul Gandhi has stepped up to defend democratic values, and now they’re plotting to silence him. The nation will not stand for it.’
Drawing historical parallels, the MP reminded that India’s freedom was hard-won after decades of struggle against British rule. The Constitution, crafted by Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, forms the bedrock of the world’s largest democracy. ‘Any attempt to tamper with it will provoke the wrath of the entire country,’ he warned.
On the controversy surrounding ‘Vande Mataram,’ Singh clarified that there is no opposition to the patriotic song itself, which galvanized millions during the 1905 Bengal partition protests. ‘The issue is with lines added to target the Muslim community,’ he explained, urging respect for its glorious history.
Turning to Bihar, Singh echoed former Chief Minister Rabri Devi’s call for Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and Deputy CM Samrat Choudhary to resign over the state’s deteriorating law and order. ‘Bihar’s daughters live in fear, mirroring BJP-ruled states. Women are denied respect and safety, stripping the government of any moral authority to remain in power.’
As political tensions simmer, Singh’s remarks underscore deepening divides in Indian politics, with opposition voices growing louder against perceived assaults on democratic institutions.
