In a significant move to strengthen the cooperative sector, Amit Shah will lay the foundation stone for the Tribhuvan Sahkari University (TSU) in Anand, Gujarat. This event marks the beginning of India’s first national-level cooperative university. The inauguration on July 5th will also involve Shah participating in a tree plantation drive and unveiling an educational module developed by NCERT. The TSU will focus on providing specialized education, training, and research in cooperative management, finance, and rural development. It will offer a diverse range of academic programs aligned with the National Education Policy 2020. Furthermore, the university plans to establish a national network, connecting over 200 cooperative institutions. Training a significant number of cooperative personnel is another key objective, alongside addressing the shortage of qualified teachers through PhD programs. A research and development council will be established to foster innovation and best practices in the cooperative sector. Amit Shah’s itinerary includes a ‘Sahkar Samvad’ event and a program at Amul Dairy to highlight the Ministry of Cooperation’s accomplishments.
