The revelations by Air Chief Marshal Amarpreet Singh about ‘Operation Sindoor’ have intensified political scrutiny, prompting the Congress party to challenge Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s decisions. Singh stated that during the operation, Pakistan was on the brink of defeat, with the Indian Air Force eliminating five Pakistani fighter jets. This action was intended to send a clear and firm message to Pakistan, eventually leading to a ceasefire. Jairam Ramesh, a prominent Congress leader, has voiced his surprise and concern over the Prime Minister’s decision to halt ‘Operation Sindoor’ on May 10. Ramesh has also questioned the source of the pressure that led to this abrupt decision. The Congress party has previously expressed its belief that the operation was stopped due to intervention from then-US President Donald Trump, a claim that has been a source of much debate and disagreement.
