The Goa Health Minister, Vishwajit Rane, has offered a public apology to Dr. Rudresh Kuttikar, the Chief Medical Officer of Goa Medical College (GMC), following a widely criticized public reprimand. The incident, captured on video, triggered strong reactions.

The Minister took to social media to convey his regret for how he addressed the situation and highlighted the politicization of the issue, with opposition parties calling for his resignation. He emphasized the role of doctors in society and their dedication to patient care. Despite expressing regret, he underscored his intent to ensure timely healthcare delivery and the efficiency of the public health system.

He highlighted the disruption in services affecting numerous patients, and appealed to the doctors to resume their duties with commitment, stressing that any action that could potentially harm the people of Goa was unjustified. The Chief Minister, Dr. Pramod Sawant, subsequently reversed the Health Minister’s suspension order.
