Barcelona/Ranchi: Chief Minister Hemant Soren is on a visit to Spain and Sweden to attract investment in Jharkhand. In this sequence, RCD Espanyol Football Club has proposed to the Jharkhand government to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for sports development, especially the training of football coaches. This cooperation will promote the development of sports, especially football, in Jharkhand, in the excellent sports ecosystem of Barcelona. On the other hand, a high-level delegation of the Jharkhand government led by the Chief Minister met NRI businessmen and eminent experts in Barcelona, Spain. In this sequence, various areas like startup mentorship, clean energy, environmental sustainability, supply chain, bio-pharmaceuticals, sports marketing, cricket team ownership, deep-tech B2B marketing, legal, dentistry and medtech were discussed. The delegation gave suggestions to promote entrepreneurship, innovation and startups and expressed its desire to cooperate in building a vibrant startup ecosystem in Jharkhand. The Chief Minister invited all the participants to visit Jharkhand and invest in the state.
Proposal to set up GIGA factory
The Chief Minister also met Mr. Dushan Lichards, CEO and Co-founder of Tesla Group A.S. (Czechoslovakia). He proposed to set up a GIGA factory in Jharkhand, which will focus on the assembly of commercial and industrial battery storage products. This plant will be similar to the company’s investment in Braila, Romania in the field of renewable energy storage.
Government proposed
The representatives suggested that startups and their mentors in Jharkhand should be mapped and linked to global incubators. It was suggested to explore investment possibilities in food processing, especially value-added processing of Jharkhand products like jackfruit and tomato. Apart from this, topics like research in traditional medicine (Hodopathy), research and development, pharmaceutical, medtech and biotech were included.
Chief Minister assured
The Chief Minister assured that continuous dialogue, meetings and programs will be organized with Spanish companies so that concrete progress can be made towards cooperation. The state government will take into account the suggestions received while evaluating and updating the policies. He also said that Jharkhand has made significant progress in ease of doing business and is committed to bringing investments on the ground quickly and smoothly.
