Chandigarh, February 26: Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini unleashed a sharp critique in the state assembly on Thursday, labeling the disruptive actions of Indian Youth Congress workers during the prestigious India AI Summit as utterly condemnable. The event, held under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s guidance, drew global participants and aimed to position India as a leader in artificial intelligence.
Saini highlighted how the ‘indecent’ behavior of the protesters tarnished the nation’s international reputation at a time when India is making strides in cutting-edge technology. He pointed out that the previous budget had announced the establishment of two major AI hubs in Gurugram and Panchkula, underscoring the state’s commitment to the AI revolution.
Shifting focus to healthcare, Health Minister Aarti Singh Rao assured the assembly that the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana is bolstering medical services across Haryana. With 2,694 treatment packages covering surgeries, day-care procedures, medicines, and diagnostics, the scheme has activated 1.38 crore Ayushman cards as of February 20.
From November 2022 to February 17, 2026, over 14.28 lakh treatments have been provided, with hospitals reimbursed more than Rs 2,010 crore. Treatments not listed under standard packages are handled through designated hospitals in the ‘undesignated’ category.
Public Health Minister Ranbir Gangwa detailed efforts under the Chief Minister’s ‘Har Ghar Nal Se Jal’ initiative, ensuring drinking water supply in new regularized colonies. In Jhajjar, schemes for 25 colonies have been finalized, while canal-based systems serve the city and nine villages to strict standards.
Development and Panchayat Minister Krishna Lal Panwar announced that villages with populations over 10,000 are now classified as ‘Mahagram,’ receiving urban-style sewerage and essential infrastructure to elevate rural living standards. To address waterlogging in Julana-Shadipur Bazar, an inter-departmental committee has been formed under the Jind District Council CEO.
