During his participation in the TV9 Bharatvarsh Satta Sammelan in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav looked back at his early life. He was asked about his time helping his father at their tea, jalebi, and poha shop located in Ujjain’s tobacco market. He mentioned that people still remember him as the ‘chaiwala’ and ‘panwala,’ since he used to manage the shop there while also studying and contesting elections.

He explained that his father had initially focused on business. Talking about education, he mentioned that basic education is typically achieved by the 10th grade, after which one develops expertise in various subjects. He added that those interested in starting a business can choose their path after the 10th grade. His father had told him after 11th grade that he could study as much as desired, but he set up a shop for him.

CM Yadav shared that he then engaged in the shop. He mentioned that he makes good tea and poha and invited everyone to try his offerings, guaranteeing a delightful experience. He stated he could also be referred to as a tea seller or a cow rearer, as these are part of his upbringing.
