A cloudburst caused substantial damage to a hotel under construction in Uttarkashi’s Silai Band on the Barkot-Yamunotri Marg on June 29, 2025. Consequently, 8 to 9 workers, who were residing at the construction site, have gone missing. Uttarkashi’s District Magistrate, Prashant Arya, announced the commencement of rescue and search operations. The SDRF and NDRF have been dispatched to the location to aid in the search for the missing workers.
