A lawyer tried to attack the Chief Justice of India, B.R. Gavai, within the Supreme Court on Monday. The individual reportedly attempted to throw a shoe during a court session, but security personnel quickly intervened. The lawyer was heard shouting ‘We will not tolerate the insult of Sanatan’ as they were escorted from the courtroom.

The incident is believed to be connected to the CJI’s remarks concerning a historical case involving a damaged idol of Lord Vishnu in Khajuraho, which had drawn criticism from various Hindu organizations. CJI Gavai remained composed, telling those present to continue their arguments despite the disruption.
