Raipur, March 30, 2025/ Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, in a program held today in Mohbhatta, Bilaspur, specifically mentioned the Bastar Olympics, stating that thousands of people participated in the event. I see a bright future for the youth of Chhattisgarh. The successful and splendid organization of the Bastar Olympics is proof of a positive change. Chhattisgarh is full of resources, dreams, and capabilities. 25 years from now, when we celebrate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of Chhattisgarh, Chhattisgarh will be one of the leading states in the country.
Youth, victorious participants of the Bastar Olympics, Lakhpati Didis, elected officials of urban bodies and three-tier Panchayats reached Mohbhatta to see and listen to Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. During the program, the victorious participants of the Bastar Olympics waved pictures of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai in their hands and occasionally chanted slogans of ‘Prime Minister Zindabad’ (Long live the Prime Minister). The enthusiasm of the Bastar Olympics participants was a sight to behold. They expressed gratitude to the Prime Minister for the work being done under the leadership of the double-engine government in the last one and a quarter years for the overall development of Bastar and the betterment of its people.
It is noteworthy here that the Bastar Olympics was organized to boost enthusiasm among the people after the weakening of Naxal violence. More than 1 lakh 65 thousand players participated in it. People who had lost limbs due to Naxal violence also participated. Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi had praised the Bastar Olympics in his Mann Ki Baat program in December and described it as a symbol of a changing Bastar.
On the special initiative of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, women in the state of Chhattisgarh are being economically empowered by connecting them with livelihood-oriented activities. So far, over two and a quarter lakh women in Chhattisgarh have come into the category of Lakhpati Didis. The target is to bring 10 lakh women into the category of Lakhpati Didis in this financial year.
