Because of incessant rains within the state, 93 % water has been crammed within the Ravi Shankar Sagar reservoir, Gangrel dam. Govt Engineer, Water Assets Department Rudri Shri A.Ok. Paldia stated {that a} general of 10 thousand cusecs of water is being launched through opening 14 gates of the dam at 3 pm nowadays. Out of this, 7800 cusec water is launched via radial gate and 2200 cusec water is launched to electrical board to generate 10 MW energy. He stated that 37 thousand cusecs of water is coming from the catchment space of Gangrel dam. Dhamtari district management has warned about freeing water in 45 villages across the river.
