In a remarkable display of unity and compassion, CRPF jawans played a significant role in a wedding in Puvarti village, Sukma district. The soldiers, stationed for security, embraced the role of the bride’s brothers, offering her gifts and joyfully participating in the wedding celebrations with the local community. Puvarti, the home village of the notorious Naxal commander Hidma, witnessed this heartwarming gesture. The 150th Battalion provided security for the wedding. As the bride was about to leave, the villagers took her to the CRPF camp to meet the soldiers. The CRPF officers and jawans shared their blessings, gifted the bride, and joined in the festivities, dancing and singing alongside the entire village. This event reflects humanity, peace, trust, and change. This region, once under the shadow of Naxalism, is now showing signs of harmony. The peace and development efforts of the central and state governments are yielding positive outcomes, with examples of trust-building emerging. The wedding in Puvarti marked a historic shift, where trust replaced animosity.
