Many states in the country are currently experiencing continuous heavy rainfall. The skies are filled with clouds. In the last 24 hours, Konkan, coastal and interior Karnataka, the Gangetic plains of West Bengal, eastern Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Bihar, and Assam received rainfall between 70 to 200 mm. The weather department has forecasted rain in several states today.

Delhi, the capital of India, received rain late last night. This caused the temperature to drop, giving residents relief from the humidity. The weather department predicts that Delhi will have thunderstorms today, July 26, and the rain will continue until July 31.

A low-pressure area has formed in the Bay of Bengal. It’s rapidly moving towards the northwestern parts of the country through Jharkhand and northern Chhattisgarh. The weather department has issued a warning for heavy rain in Jharkhand, Gangetic West Bengal, and Odisha. Today, Chhattisgarh, Konkan, and Vidarbha, along with several areas in Maharashtra, might experience rainfall.

Alerts have been issued for Western Madhya Pradesh for today and tomorrow, while Eastern Rajasthan is expected to receive heavy rainfall tomorrow. There is also a chance of rain in Punjab and Haryana. According to the weather department, light rain is possible in Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, West Bengal, Jammu-Kashmir, Ladakh, and Rajasthan during the next 24 hours.

Heavy rainfall is expected in Goa, coastal Karnataka, Konkan, South Gujarat, Kerala, Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Gangetic West Bengal, Vidarbha, Telangana, and many areas of Madhya Pradesh. Sikkim, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Lakshadweep, Andaman-Nicobar Islands, and central Maharashtra have also been put on alert for heavy rainfall. The weather department predicts heavy rain in eastern India for the next four days, with heavy rainfall expected in Tripura, Mizoram, Arunachal Pradesh, and Meghalaya today.
