Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai attended the closing and award ceremony of the WAKO India National Kickboxing Championship 2025 at the Sardar Balbir Singh Juneja Indoor Stadium in Raipur. He welcomed participants and coaches, praising Chhattisgarh’s selection for the event. Sai spoke about the state’s geographical features, cultural richness, and efforts to combat Naxalism. He highlighted the role of kickboxing in cultivating courage, strength, and determination among young people. The Chief Minister commended the state’s commitment to sports through initiatives such as the Khelo India program and the Chhattisgarh Sports Promotion Scheme. He acknowledged the success of the winning teams and the remarkable performance of Chhattisgarh in the competition, including the recognition given to the Assam Rifles. Addresses were also given by MP Brijmohan Agrawal, emphasizing the importance of sports for girls’ self-defense, and Mayor Meenal Choubey.
