    Voter awareness programme organized under SVEEP at High School ground Janjgir

    As per the instructions of the Election Commission of India and Chhattisgarh Chief Electoral Officer Raipur and Collector Shri Akash Chhikara conducted a district level voter awareness campaign of SVEEP in the presence of District Election Officer and Collector Shri Akash Chhikara at High School Ground Janjgir to make people aware of hundred percent voting and voting rights in the district. On this occasion, all the school students, differently-abled, third gender voters and youth of Hasdeo Ke Hero and all the officers and employees gave the message of voter awareness by making the shape of an attractive human chain on the theme of “Kosa Kansa Kanchan Vote Karega Jan-Jan”. Along with this, the Collector administered oath to all the voters including all the students, officers, employees and youth present to maintain the dignity of democratic traditions of the country by keeping their full faith in democracy and to use their voting right in all elections fearlessly without being influenced by religion, race, caste, community, language or any inducement.

    Addressing the SVEEP programme, Collector Akash Chhikara said that in a democracy, the right to vote is given to all citizens from the age of 18 years. Therefore, it is the responsibility of all of us to add the names of every citizen of 18 years, newlyweds, disabled and third gender in the voter list. The names of all voters have to be registered in the list. He appealed that everyone should cooperate in getting their names added to the voter list by informing all the citizens in their village, city.

    He informed that the work of adding names in the voter list is being done by January 22. SVEEP programs are being organized in urban bodies, district panchayats, gram panchayats including the district. Additional Collector S.P. Singh was also present on the occasion. District SVEEP Nodal Shri R.K. Khute, Additional Collector Shri Guddu Lal Jagat, District Deputy Election Officer Smt. Nisha Netam Madavi, SDM Janjgir, district level officers-employees, distinguished citizens and students were present.
