Security forces in Bijapur district scored a major victory against Maoist insurgents on September 25th. A combined team of DRG Bijapur, Basaguda and Bhairamgarh police stations, and Cobra 210, successfully arrested two Naxalites, collectively carrying a reward of ₹9 lakhs. The arrests occurred within the Basaguda and Bhairamgarh police station limits.

The first arrest was of Mallesh Kunjam, a key member of the Jagargunda Area Committee. Kunjam, also known as Boti, Tokdu, Nanda, or Hurra, is 40 years old and a resident of Narsapur village. He was wanted under an ₹8 lakh reward.

Simultaneously, Anil Veko, the Janatana Sarkar President, was apprehended during a joint operation near Darmar village.
