The Health and Family Welfare Department, taking major action, has terminated the services of 27 medical officers and specialist doctors who were unauthorizedly absent for a long time. In addition, departmental inquiry orders have been issued against 21 medical officers.
It may be noted that show-cause notices were issued to the medical officers and specialist doctors for being unauthorizedly absent from their duty stations for a long time. The medical officers and specialist doctors violated the fundamental rules of the government and the Chhattisgarh Civil Services (Leave) Rules by being unauthorizedly absent for more than three consecutive years.
The absent officers and doctors were given a full opportunity to present their case after being issued show-cause notices. The arguments of the medical officers/specialist doctors present at the hearing were heard, and after seriously considering the representations submitted by them, the services of the medical officers and specialist doctors have been terminated.
