Virendra Gahwai, Bilaspur. The truck owner, who was going to express his problems in the CM’s public darshan, was picked up by the police before he could reach the CM and taken to the police station, where he was beaten and Atrocity Act was imposed. Not only this, the police did not present the challan even after 10 months of registering the crime. In this case, the petitioner has accused the police of forcibly registering the crime and has appealed to the High Court to cancel the FIR and take action against the guilty police officers. After hearing the case, the court has issued notice to the Home Secretary, DGP, SP Durg and others and directed them to submit their reply by April 9.

Actually, Bhilai resident truck owner Sardar Sukhwant Singh has filed a petition in the Chhattisgarh High Court through his advocate Anil Tawdkar. It says that he does transportation business. Complainant Narad Lal Tandekar ASI had demanded Rs 15,000 in the name of releasing the vehicle, which was paid online through the complainant’s mobile Paytm from the applicant’s mobile number. After taking a printout and copy of this payment, a complaint was made to the IG, SP and DGP. After this the ASI was suspended.

The petition states that a few days after the suspension, photographs of the amount and transactions taken by the ASI started circulating in the internet media. Due to this, the ASI started harboring personal grudge against the complainant. The complainant reached Durg on April 7, 2023 during the Chief Minister’s public darshan program to complain. Had also obtained a token to participate in the public darshan. Meanwhile, some policemen picked him up and brought him straight to the police station. On the instructions of the suspended ASI, the policemen beat him fiercely and also registered a case under Atrocity. Even after 10 months of registering the crime, the police did not present the challan.
